Get ready for Summer Swim Team!!
The summer session for the Woodbridge Swim Team officially starts
Monday, June 1st, with the welcome dinner and team photos scheduled
for Wednesday, May 27th. If you have not already registered, please
stop by the pool to determine availability and visit our website for
the registration form at http://www.woodbridgeswimteam.org/.
To start off the summer season conditioned and ready to go, please
take advantage of our Summer Pre-Season Clinic starting on April
20th. The clinic includes six (6) weeks of practice, five (5) days
per week for only $100.00 per swimmer. To sign-up, print and bring
the attached registration form by the pool between 4:30 p.m - 6:00
p.m. no later than April 20th. Please confirm your practice time with
Coach Dawn so she place your child accordingly.
Important Summer Update regarding Learn to Swim Program:
The Woodbridge Swim Team will not be offering a Learn to Swim program
in the shallow end of the pool this summer after Friday, June 19th.
The swim team will continue to offer our Learn to Swim Program for
small swimmers (ages 3-5) year round and until June 19th. The cost to
attend this program from June 1st through June 19th is $75.00. We
will continue to hold Level 1 Swim Team sessions for more confident
swimmers comfortable swimming laps across the deep end of the pool
throughout the summer session (recommend ages 5 and up).
Please understand our pool is extremely crowded with over 240 swimmers
during the peak summer session. There were several reasons for the
discontinuation of the summer LTS program, and a decision was made by
the Year Round Board, the ISL Board, Coaches, and the Woodbridge
Village Association. Our priority for the summer is focused on our
swim team swimmers and for providing a safe environment in the water
for all those registered.
The Woodbridge Village Association has a concurrent program for young
children geared toward a more individualized approach to water safety
and swim instruction. The lessons are taught daily Monday through
Friday at various times convenient to Woodbridge residents. The price
is fair and the quality of the instructors is excellent. The program
is offered at several area Woodbridge pools, including two pools
within blocks of Stone Creek swim club.
