Hello Tigershark Families,

Thank you for a great welcome team party on Wednesday!! It was wonderful to see so many returning swimmers and meet some new families, as well as introduce our coaches for the summer.

Practice officially begins this Monday, June 7 and hopefully everyone knows the correct practice times. If not, please plan to show up at your desired time and the coaches will try to place your child in the appropriate group. Please keep in mind, Monday will be a little crazy with everyone trying to find their group so hang in there and don’t get discouraged. The swimmers are in great hands and our coaches will be evaluating them and making sure they are in the correct group based on their ability. If you are new to the Tigersharks, our practice groups are not by ages necessarily, but by ability which means an 8 year old swimmer could be swimming in the same lane as a 12 year old. With this system, each swimmer is able to reach their full potential quicker and more efficiently.

I realize IUSD has a furlough day on Monday and Tuesday and some of you may be out of town which is fine. Your child is not required to practice all five days per week, so there is no need to contact anyone. After the first week or so, things will calm down aOnce the season is underway, please do not approach the coaches while they are instructing and interacting with the swimmers. They are more than happy to address questions and concerns once a practice group is finished, but really like to stay focused on the children for safety concerns.
