Swim
Meets for the year round team are usually held on
Friday afternoons at 3:30 pm warmup at Stone Creek
pool. They last 2-3 hours. Volunteers are
needed to be timers, lane runners, snack bar
helpers, and other fun jobs. Your kids will
sign up at the pool the week before the meet,
sometimes there is a small fee ($15-20) but often
the meets are free. Kids swim 3-4 events
depending on ability. Even if your child has
never been in a swim meet, they will enjoy
competing against other teams with brand new
swimmers. All levels of swimmers compete in
our meets. All children get ribbons and time
improvement recognition.
What to bring to a swim meet: 3 towels, goggles, competition suit, warm up or large sweatshirt (the kids get cold in between events), umbrella or chair for away meets, money for snacks (there is usually a snack bar), hat and sunglasses. Summer Irvine Swim League swim meets are on Saturday mornings from 8-1 pm or earlier. There are many more detailed instructions for Summer ISL meets, see their list of swim meets on the ISL website link.
