Hello Swimmers and Parents,

I would like to extend a huge welcome back to all our returning swimmers as well as welcome all our new families to the 2009 Woodbridge WaveRider season!!
This email is the 1st of many you will be receiving through out the next several months. If you would like to change your email or add another, please let me know so I’m able to keep in communication with everyone. Once the season begins, I usually send out several emails a week so be sure to check your mail on a regular basis.

Our first exciting event is our annual Spaghetti Social and Picture Night which will be Wednesday, May 27th. The festivities will begin at 3:30 p.m. with swimming and music. We’ll plan on taking our team photo around 5:00 and follow with dinner. This event is for the entire family with spaghetti, salad and bread catered by Macaroni Grill! We ask that you bring either a drinks or a desert for sharing. All swimmers will receive a Woodbridge Swim Team shirt which they will wear in the photo and we will also have team swimwear for sale from CAS swim store.

Swim Team practice will official begin June 1st. If your swimmer does not have an assigned swim time, you may do so at our social or we can do it through emails. Just to warn you, the first day and week of swimming is very busy. The coaches will be meeting and assessing all the new swimmers to make sure everyone is in the correct swim level group. During this first week, coaches may move kids around so they are comfortable and happy in their practice group. Our team is unique in that we base the groups on ability level instead of age. This allows for the advance swimmers to swim at a higher level while those needing more instruction to feel comfortable at a slower pace.

Sometime during the 1st week of practice, I will be holding a parent meeting for all new families. We’ll meet one day during practice and I’ll go over all the information you’ll need to make it through your first swim team summer. It can be a bit overwhelming, but I promise to make it as easy as possible!

Please mark you calendar with the following swim meets. Swimmers are encouraged to swim in as many meets as possible and are required to swim in the Championship meet which is August 8th.
