September 18, 2009 Ice Cream Social
This event was well attended with increased
participation from prior years (due to the
higher school enrollment for 2009-2010).
Over 430 bowls of ice cream were served,
and fun was had by all.
October 8, 2009 Team Kids Reading Event
This Team Kids reading event was hosted by
schools across Irvine. Stone Creek
participation included reading “The Very
Hungry Caterpillar” book to the
Kindergarten classes.
October 20, 2009 “Do The Right Thing” Assembly
This assembly was held for all upper
graders in conjunction with Red Ribbon
Week. The focus was on exploring the
consequences and morals learned from making
good and bad choices through multicultural
folktales and stories.
October 23, 2009 Family Outdoor Movie Night
A great night of family fun with “Monsters
vs. Aliens” movie shown on a large outdoor
inflatable screen on the field. 190 people
participated in the event, and the PTA
donated net profits from concession sales
in the amount of $550.00 to the Stone Creek
Technology Fund.
October 27, 2009 PTA General Meeting
Dr. Gwen Gross, IUSD Superintendent spoke
to the PTA about the state budget crisis
and impact on IUSD.
December 2, 2009 Maple Youth Ballet “The Nutcracker”
Stone Creek was selected by the Maple Youth
Ballet as a site to host an interactive
version of “The Nutcracker” for the 2nd
through 4th grade students. This program
was funded through a grant received from
Target, and was a truly spectacular
assembly.
December 4, 2009 “Icky, Yucky, Gross Bug Show” Assembly
The lower graders enjoyed playing along
with this dramatic, interactive and
improvisational presentation about insects.
January – February, 2010 Water education assemblies
The Discovery Science Center partnered with
the Irvine Ranch Water District will
present several water education assemblies
to 2nd through 6th graders.

International Night is an annual event at
Stone Creek for families to come socialize
and share their heritage through food and
traditional dress.
June 11, 2010 Family Fun Night
This event will be held at Woodpine Park,
directly across West Yale Loop from the
school. There will be free games and
recreation to entertain the kids, while the
adults and their families celebrate the
close of another school year with their
friends.
